Our classes aren't just for children,

adults need a way to relieve stress in their lives, as well as a good physical workout to keep healthy and live a balanced life, and K.A.I.S can provide that for you!

Here at K.A.I.S we provide a very nurturing yet disciplined atmosphere, so we can bring out the best in your child, teaching them to accept challenges by believing in themselves and working hard to complete a specific goal.

At K.A.I.S TKD, we offer classes for children, adults, and ohanas.  We include anti-bullying techniques, including voice inflection & body language.  Sounding like a leader works wonders as "preventitive medicine" against bullys.

TaeKwonDo is considered the world's most popular martial art.  It's practiced in more than 100 countries and has been an official olympic sport since 1994!  TaeKwonDo practitioners are skilled in:  strength, stamina, speed, balance, and flexibility.

Why choose to learn TaeKwonDo at K.A.I.S?

"The Trinity of Tae Kwon Do consists of the three major aspects of Tae Kwon Do; the Body, the Mind, and the Spirit. In order for an individual to develop into a complete and well-rounded person, he must cultivate each aspect of Tae Kwon Do. If only one or two of the aspects are developed, then a person, no matter how hard he trains, may never become a true Master of Art of Tae Kwon Do."

-Grand Master James S. Benko, Ph.D.-

It's not just about kicks and punches.

Let's take a closer look at the meaning of the word "Tae" "Kwon" "Do." It is composed of three parts as shown in the English spelling, though it is one word in Korean. "Tae" means "foot", "leg" or "to step on"; "Kwon" means "fist", or "fight"; and "Do" means the "way" or "discipline."

"What is Taekwondo?"

Here at K.A.I.S. we teach WTF Tae Kwon Do.

"Does your school teach ITF or WTF Taekwondo?"

Aloha,

For the last seventeen years, I've owned and been Master Instructor of Kim's Academy in Sandy, Utah.  We've won Best of State for four years running, and as members of the Canyon School District, are currently teaching Verbal Judo in a number of public, Private and charter schools as well as experiencing a long waiting list from schools that have heard about our program in Anti-bullying. It has been the most rewarding experience helping young children become future leaders.  Utah is known as being very  family oriented, and yet, as with everywhere else, there is a huge bullying problem that needs addressing.

About 3 years ago, I turned my school over to my business partner (his son is a 2nd degree black belt and I just presided over his 4th degree black belt testing) and moved to this beautiful island with my family:  Derek, a 3rd degree black belt; Gena, a 2nd degree black belt; Kai, a 1st degree black belt, and my wife Dorene Miya, Ph.D.  I am honored to be able to teach your children Tae Kwon Do using techniques that will help them communicate effectively, and teach them how to defend themselves with words, and when necessary by taking action.
